The Four Triggers that S.W.A.T. one into Awakening and Enlightenment

Surrender, Wonder, Asunder and Thunder (S.W.A.T), are the four triggers that can initiate the quest for the Truth, and also end it. They are responsible for the initial awakening to the falsehood of the routine, un-examined life, and they also help to finally trigger the enlightening moment of Truth.

Surrender, Wonder, Asunder or Thunder – any, or all, of these initially awaken one to the tricks being played by the ego or illusory self, and later liberate one from the ego at the moment of enlightenment.

– Surrender makes the ego miniscule, and the heart becomes vast, as one surrenders to one’s beloved.

– Wonder makes the heart vast, and the ego becomes miniscule.

– Asunder destroys all of ego’s attachments, securities, memories, hopes and desires, and one loses all reasons to continue living the same life.

– Thunder makes the mind clear in a flash, when one’s ego is clearly recognized as the illusion that it is. Like a bolt of lightning, this Aha moment, on awakening, reveals the futility of the rat-race, and the cowardice of dual-faced society; and at the moment of enlightenment, the Aha moment reveals the absolute Truth of non-duality.

Enlightenment not only has a hundred-and-one side-effects; enlightenment itself is a side-effect of these four triggers. Becoming emptied is more important than chasing the fulfillment which is but a side-effect of the emptying.
