Hi, I’m Dr. Sanjay Grover, an ardent and resolute seeker of Truth by passion, besides being an Eye-surgeon by profession. I have now been living the enlightened life since 1993, when I was 36 years old. Since then I am the salesman of Thirst, sincerely striving to intensify the genuine seekers’ romance for the Truth, and reassuring them that the Truth exists and is attainable by one and all, provided they are the Other Kind.

I do not offer water from my overflowing well to quench the thirst of those desperate for the Truth. Rather, I intensify their thirst and make them dig wells for themselves, to fetch the intoxicating water that will quench their thirst eternally. If you are stirred and shaken but not yet intoxicated, then get ready to taste Theo’s Rum.

How many would be tempted by the Salesman of Thirst? Your guess is as good as mine. But one thing is for sure – those who come here would be the Other Kind – genuine seekers who would surely progress to find the Ultimate Truth, for I firmly believe that ‘Enlightenment is our Birthright.’

How I sought the Meaning of Life, and experienced Enlightenment

The story of my romance with the ultimate Truth began at the age of 19. The facts that I am a doctor educated in one of India’s best medical schools on scholarship, had a secure and loving childhood etc., are of little significance in this quest. What is important is that I sought the ultimate meaning of life, and this quest culminated in the experience of enlightenment.

I did not chase enlightenment. Actually, at that time I did not even know what it meant. I only hungered for the real meaning of life. After 17 years of intense seeking, the answer suddenly came in the form of ‘death’ of the ‘ego I’ which has been so desperately seeking. At the death of the questioner, the question died by itself. This triggered a Celebration of Completion, Bliss, and Immortality, which was the result of a Liberation from all Attachment, Insecurity, Memory and the ego-self – which is the state of enlightenment, or what I call, CeLiberation .

It is not some illusory soul that has to live after death;
It is the illusory ‘I‘ that has to die before death.

The Autobiography of a ‘Self’ less man

Can there be an autobiography when there is no ‘I,’ no self? Events, incidents, even time and ‘I’ existed before that enlightening moment. After that—unending, unbroken, bliss. Enlightenment is the event that ends all events! It is the Zero Point – the BC and AD of one’s life.

Well, the account of my life, from awakening to the falsehood of routine existence, to the enlightening experience of the ultimate Truth, is a story of Romancing the Truth. It took me 17 years of fervent seeking from Awakening, to unexpectedly experiencing Enlightenment, passing through the stages of:

1. Awakening to the Falsehood of routine existence and the rat-race.

2. Shunning the Untruth of religions and rituals.

3. Romancing the Truth with the passion of romancing one’s beloved.

4. Experiencing Enlightenment through Surrender, Wonder, Asunder and Thunder (SWAT).

5. Living the CeLiberated* Life: Surviving enlightenment and becoming the Salesman of Thirst.

*CeLiberation – a term coined to replace the word enlightenment – signifies a Celebration of Completion, Bliss and Immortality (CBI) that results from a Liberation from all AIMS – Attachment, Insecurity, Memory and the Self.

In the 29 years after my enlightenment I kept pouring myself out in my writings. I wrote in order to develop the clarity to be able to explain the ineffable Truth to others! My writing has taken the shape of two novels:

An Eye for an ‘I’: a fascinating tale about the experience of opening of the Spiritual ‘Eye’ when the false ego or the ‘I’ is surrendered. This novel begins with the awakening to the falsehood of life, and through Eastern Wisdom, Western Logic and Universal Love, it leads to the experience of enlightenment.

The second novel, a sequel to the first is:

Romancing the Truth: This novel carries forward the narrative of the enlightened guiding others to enlightenment by motivating them to become earnest seekers of Truth. This book is an adventure in ideas and leads one right from finding the ‘definition’ of the Conscious Intelligent Allness (alias god) to the Divine itch that prompts it to create the Cosmos and bring forth human beings who seek the meaning of life, and who find fulfillment in the experience of enlightenment.

As an Eye Surgeon, I encounter people from all walks of life. Whenever I come across someone thirsting to go from Sight to Insight, I pour out all my knowledge and passion of the Truth, to intensify their fervour for the Truth. It is not necessary to stop working either before, or after enlightenment. So most interactions with people have been at my clinic itself.
