What You say about Me
A few responses from earnest seekers of Truth:
My questions and doubts about how to meditate, how to keep my mind focused, how long to meditate and in which posture; my preoccupations about what to eat, how to control my mind, etc., ceased when Sanjay Grover asked, “Have you ever been deeply in love?” Does a true lover ever ask, ‘How long should I think about my beloved? How can I keep my mind focused on the beloved?”
In a flash, I understood that it is so natural and effortless to think about the beloved; rather, the difficulty lies in staying away from those thoughts. Similarly, the only way to passionately and joyously seek the Truth is to passionately romance it.Sanjay knows how to make one fall in love with the Truth.
Anuradha, Student at Panjab University
During my search of over 20 years, I dived headlong into various paths – you name it and I would have passed by that lane. I hounded multiple gurus – a few sincere ones and many commercial ones. Over time, I developed a unique clarity of thought. For me, the search had ended, and I was living in peace with myself. I did not believe that a state beyond where I was, could exist.
Then a chance meeting happened with Dr Sanjay! After a couple of interactions, he told me that he is enlightened, I thought, ‘Oh, not again!’ I am rational and border on being a sceptic. He gave me Nine Days to Nirvana, a book that he had written. He also shared his notes on the second book that was ‘work in progress’.
One day, after a long conversation, he looked me in the eye and said, “There is a higher state! And when you attain that, you don’t need anyone to certify it for you. Each cell in your body will experience peace and bliss!” No one had ever been so upfront and clear in breaking the Truth.
Our interactions continued, and I used to watch him with alacrity. I could sense his uniqueness in almost everything – the scintillating intelligence, the clarity of thought, the blissful demeanor and the preciseness in every act – be it the eye-surgery of a patient, or tossing the omelette that he used to make for me with love. He is a sea of love for animate and inanimate, never even touching a mosquito biting his cheeks for fear of hurting it. It is sheer joy to be with him, akin to either being in the lap of one’s mother, or like playing with an innocent baby. He is a perfect example of no-ego state topped up with a child-like exuberance.
He is quiet, but is a man of words, for he is fond of expressing himself in writing. His proficiency in explaining enlightenment through psychology, philosophy, physiology, neuroscience and other disciplines has a rare and unique freshness to it. I became the sounding board for him as his new book started taking shape. I found myself on a flight to his place every alternate month for the next 5 years. He would swiftly sharpen 4 or 5 pencils and hand them over to me to edit his manuscript, and on return from the clinic he would promptly count the number of blunted ones and announce his displeasure by making faces! All his musings and research are now a part of his book: Romancing the Truth, which is a delight to read, and is an eye-opener in more ways than one.
He is enlightened! But can he promise you enlightenment? I doubt that very much, for no one can! However, he can help you separate the wheat from the chaff and turn you into a true romancer of Truth!!

Listening to Sanjay and reading his books, I experienced clarity in my seeking and gave up the desire for “false” solace and super-normal experiences. He set me to seeking the Truth, which intensified when he helped in liberating me from false concepts like karma, soul, and after-life. These comforting ideas were lulling me to postpone the search to another lifetime or blame the present situation on the past. I now appreciate the Truth of the statement-‘Every person has two lives; the second one begins when we realize we have only one!’

“Bitiya!” One word uttered by a relative-stranger, at the other end of the telephone, had it all – the comforting warmth of a mother, the protection of a doting father, and more! Feelings are the prerogative of the heart and can rarely be explained through the words that emanate from the head. Suffice to say that the word became a solid foundation for a father-daughter duo and is as fresh as day 1 after 5 years! For him, the whole world is his child, and he loves every one of them as his own.

I could become very open with this papa, he being in a no-ego state! “Ego begets ego,” he reminds me when I mention this. All the pretences and masks vanish while I interact with him. I can ask him anything without the fear of being judged. His knowledge is too vast, be it in art, craft, books, photography, medicine, etc., besides, of course, his spiritual knowledge and experience. He never attempts to force his views, just throws light on different perspectives. “Correcting someone stems from the position that ‘I am right, you are wrong,’ and amounts to violence!” he says. His life is totally nonviolent in thought, word, and deed. He never ever quotes from the scriptures, but each of his words has the freshness of Truth.
He never stops urging me to read his novel An Eye for an ‘I’, and the manuscript of Romancing the Truth, and provide him with feedback. Hidden behind this is his desire to understand the reader’s views, and his over-abundant love. He has poured out all his wisdom and spiritual experience in the books and wants everyone to taste the bliss that he has found!
There is no dearth of the overflowing love and I am blessed to be one of his many ‘children,’ and get the opportunity to have a first-hand glimpse of non-dual living!
I love you Papa.

To describe a person such as Sanjay, one has to be in a higher realm of awareness and sagacity. Someone like me can only make a feeble attempt to characterize him. Meeting him during my teens in the Medical College, was fascinating. He had such a mystical and magnetic aura even then. Now, after having enjoyed decades of privilege of being in his blessed company, I find him even more transcendental, exalted and rapturous. Just being around him transports one to the actuality of blissful and eternal realms. He illuminates our paths towards cosmic awareness—the Bodhi!
Dr. Ajay Gupta
Chief Surgeon, Lotus Hospital, Delhi
This eye surgeon is more than meets the eye! He leads one from sight to insight by performing an efficient “I” surgery, which liberates one from the “I” and helps open the “third eye.” Not only that, he also helps one open the ears by teaching the art of listening, and sharpens the other senses too, by making one aware and sensitive to the beauty all around them. He is a keen photographer, and his macro-photographs made me fall in love with insects that I used to ignore or detest. He is like a child, full of enthusiasm and wonder.
Dr. Vipin (Homeopath)
I had been taught that I am a stream which has to seek an ocean into which to merge – an atman that has to merge back with the paramatman. I now know that the water-vapour which makes the stream and the ocean, is everywhere. The seeking stream can vaporize and become “steam” at any moment! There is no distance to cover, no ocean to seek, for the Truth is always here and now. We don’t have to wander anywhere to experience it.
Anil Kumar (Businessman)
“Dr. Grover helped me escape from being misguided, not just by wilful conners, but even by sincere gurus who, in their enthusiasm to guide, were unknowingly misguiding me. Words like, “God is Supreme, Great, and a Higher Power,” appear innocuous, but such words condition the mind to believe that god is someone big and far away. Such statements prevented me from realizing that this Conscious, Intelligent Allness is right here, right now, and I am nothing but That CIA! Sanjay made me aware of this immediacy – this non-separation and non-duality.
